About Santiago
Santi is a Chilean, queer, and trans artist who gets inspiration from the magical universe around them and within them.Santi has been doing art as long as they can remember. She started doing tattoos a little over 4 years ago and has fallen in love with the medium. She loves dipping her toes into a wide variety of styles. This year Santi would love to start some focus on doing big pieces with surrealist twists and neotraditional inspirations. But they do love trying everything, so if you have an idea bring it her way.

About Toni PNW
Hi! I'm Toni - a fat, queer woman who makes art celebrating my fierce self-love, confidence, and experiences living in the amazing Pacific Northwest. Tattooing is such a powerful expression of self-love and the perfect medium to continue bringing understanding, kindness, and peace to how we view ourselves. I am beyond passionate about the joy, fun, and authenticity I put into my work - which is a black-and-grey spin on classic American Traditional with bold waves inspired by Oregon Coast agates. Agates are beautiful, inside and out, and pairing that idea with a reminder that big and bold is just as lovely makes for truly empowering art.

About Kat
Hi! I’m Kat - a queer, indigenous artist from the Arizona desert now living in the PNW.I’m a drag performer, makeup artist, and a traditional/digital artist. Since I was a kid, I’ve been creative; whether it’s been making homemade comic books or turning myself into something out of a horror movie - I’ve always loved to create things! I gather inspiration from so much - cartoons, movies, nostalgia, and the wonderful people I surround myself with. Tattooing has been my ultimate goal for many years and I’m so beyond excited to start this journey.Tattoos make me feel so comfortable and confident in my skin and that is what I hope to give to others!

Stay Hydrated
Hydrating on water makes a huge difference for your tattoo session! From making your skin easier to tattoo, to keeping you from feeling nauseous, and helping your skin heal at it's best efficiency, keeping hydrated for at least 3 days before your appointment is super important!
Stay Skin-Hydrated
Externally hydrating is also super helpful for having your session go as smooth as possible. Literally! Using an emollient (moisture retaining) lotion daily will help clear any dryness or flaking. Just don't apply any lotion a few hours before your appointment so there's no residue left on the skin.
Choose a Comfortable Outfit
Your artist will need access to the tattoo site and the surrounding area so keep that in mind when choosing what to wear. Good choices are loose, layer-able, and comfortable clothes. And remember that tattoo ink will stain forever, so don't wear bright or light colors or your favorite shirt!
Ask Questions
If any questions come up before your appointment, always feel free to contact your artist and ask! No question is silly, and we want you to feel comfortable and confident when you show up for your session.
Get a Good Night's Rest
While getting tattooed feels like staying in the same spot for hours, your body is actually working incredibly hard during your appointment in in the few weeks afterward. Getting a full night of sleep will help you feel your best and give your body the boost it needs.
Eat a Filling Meal
Please do not skip eating before your tattoo! Fainting is not fun or safe, and eating something filling will give your body much needed nutrients and resources to keep you feeling good through the session.Muse has a snack selection in our waiting area you are more than welcome to choose from!
Waiting for your appointment can feel like a lifetime - but using this time to care for your body will make the appointment go the best it can! If you have any questions before your session, please reach out to your artist. We are happy to help!

Aftercare
Thanks for getting tattooed at Muse!!
Good healing habits applied to your tattoo now will ensure a beautiful, healthy, long lasting art piece.Day 1(Day of tattoo): Keep the initial covering on for 3-4 hours to protect your tattoo from bacteria and dirt. When taking the covering off, first wash your hands thoroughly and then gently clean your tattoo with unscented antibacterial soap. Only use unscented liquid soap (Like Dial Foaming soap) and clean with the pads of your fingers - do not use bar soap, washcloths, or loofas! Pat dry with a clean paper towel and make sure you sleep in clean clothes and bedsheets. Leave your tattoo alone as much as possible until day 2.Day 2: After 24 hours, begin applying unscented moisturizer 2-3 times per day or when your tattoo feels dry. Also 2-3 times per day clean your hands and continue to use the pads of your fingers to lightly wash your tattoo.
First week: Your tattoo may be red and tender for the first week or so. Do your best to keep it clean and leave it alone. Get adequate rest and hydration to keep your body healthy and healing. You also may notice your tattoo beginning to flake or peel - never pick at the flakes as this can cause the area to fade or lose ink pigment completely. Always allow your tattoo to peel on its own!Second week: Every healing process is different, but usually around day 7-14 you may experience intense itching. DO NOT SCRATCH YOUR TATTOO. Moisturizing your tattoo, lightly patting it, or applying ice for 10 minutes or less can help soothe the itch. When using ice, don't exceed 15 minutes of icing for skin safety and proper circulation. 10 minutes on, 10 minutes is always a safe guideline! For a full two weeks, avoid swimming, baths, lakes, and any activity that requires submerging your tattoo in water. Let your tattoo peel and flake naturally and never pick at it or force peeling.Do not use products with fragrance or use products you haven't used before to avoid allergic or adverse reactions. If you do use a new product, be sure to complete a 15 minute allergy patch test before using it on a fresh healing tattoo.Long Term Aftercare: Once your tattoo is peeled and healed completely, keep it vibrant and healthy by always applying sunscreen, moisturizing your skin, and stay hydrated.

Do you do cover ups?
Have a tattoo you're not too fond of anymore? Santiago has lots of experience making your ink disappear under a new beautiful piece of art with a coverup, and Toni PNW can put another piece right over top with a blast over piece!
Can I use numbing cream?
You are welcome to use numbing cream prior to your appointment, we just ask that you let your artist know so they can be aware of any products used on your skin. We also encourage you to do an allergy patch test to ensure you're not sensitive or allergic to the numbing cream as any skin reactions may force a reschedule of your appointment.
We're so excited to see you!
